DVD now available in Australia & the UK!

Posted on 11 February 2013 | 12:55 pm

Hey everyone! It's been a while since we posted here.  Hope everyone's been doing great and enjoying 2013 so far.

We're happy to announce that the film has recently been released on DVD & Digital in both Australia and the UK!  Lots of great reviews have been popping up, which has really been terrific.  Here are links to a few, if you'd like to check them out.

Sex Gore Mutants

Strange Things are Happening

Exquisite Terror

We're also happy to say that the film should be coming out in Germany and South Korea sometime soon.  We haven't been told any specific release date yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we have.  As for the rest of the world, we unfortunately don't have any information yet.  Our foreign sales company is working hard to get the film picked up by distributors in every country, but it's tough for small movies like ours.  If you know of a distributor in your country that you'd like to see release the film, send them an email and let them know.  Nothing would make us happier than for the film to be released in every country on the planet!

Check out our comic book!

Posted on 28 July 2012 | 2:17 pm

To celebrate the release of the film, we created a comic book (with the help of Dynamite Entertainment), and gave it away for free at Comic-Con.  Didn't get to pick one up?  No problem.  It's now available in digital form, from Comixology.  You just need to setup an account, and then click here.  It's a free download, and you can read it right inside your web browser.  If you have an iPhone, iPad, Android device, or Kindle Fire, you can download the Comixology app and read it that way.  Enjoy!

Want to win a free DVD?

Posted on 17 July 2012 | 1:25 pm

To celebrate the DVD release, we're going to be doing two contests; one on Facebook, and the other on Twitter. The winners will each receive a free copy of the DVD!

Facebook: make our Facebook Cover Photo YOUR Cover Photo, and then make a posting on your wall where you “tag” the Midnight Son fan page. (You’ll need to keep the Cover Photo up until Sunday, July 21.) For everyone who does this, we’ll throw your name in a hat, and on Sunday night we’ll draw three names at random. We’ll contact the winners via private message to get your mailing address.

Twitter: post a tweet saying how excited you are that Midnight Son has been released, include a link to our trailer (http://bit.ly/N42325), and end the tweet with the hashtag: #MidnightSon. We’ll put your name in a hat, and draw three winners on Sunday. Be sure to follow us on Twitter so we can send you a direct message if you win.

Good luck to all!

(Note: this contest is only open to those who live in the U.S. & Canada.)

IFC speaks to Producer Matt Compton regarding piracy

Posted on 11 July 2012 | 7:27 pm

IFC.com wrote an article regarding Producer Matt Compton's outreach to those on The Pirate Bay who are downloading Midnight Son without paying for it.  Click here to read it.

To anyone out there who downloaded the film but didn't pay for it: We'd like to ask that you please consider donating a little money to us via PayPal.  You can do that via this email address: midnightsonmovie@yahoo.com.  Even if it's a very small amount, anything would be appreciated. You can also consider purchasing a copy on DVD or as a digital download.  iTunes has the film available for pre-order, and Vudu will carry it starting July 17.

The film was made by people who love making films, and was financed by ourselves, family and friends.  It was made on a very small budget, and our main goal is simply to make back the money we spent on it.  It would be great to make a little bit of profit, but that's secondary to just breaking even.  Unfortunately, it's become very difficult for independent filmmakers to make their money back these days.

To those of you who have donated already and/or pre-ordered the film, a huge THANK YOU goes out to you!

The DVD is coming!

Posted on 29 June 2012 | 7:10 pm

Hi everyone!  It's been a while since we've posted anything here, so it's definitely time for an update.

We're really happy to be able to tell you that the film will be released on DVD & Digital in the US & Canada on July 17!  It's already available for pre-order via several websites, including Amazon.com and Walmart.  On the digital side, you can pre-order via iTunes.  On July 17, it should be available in Walmart stores, as well as many other digital providers like Vudu and CinemaNow.

As the date nears, we'll be doing contests on both our Facebook and Twitter pages, giving away free copies of the DVD.  Keep watching those pages for details.

Thanks for your continued support!
